Sarah Fortney Head Coach

Sarah (McCall) Fortney swam for 11 years with Pilot Aquatic Club (now Tennessee Aquatics). In her time with Pilot, she was a senior national qualifier in 4 events and a 6-time Tennessee State High School Champion (Bearden). Sarah went on to swim for the University of Tennessee from 2005-2009 where she was a 400 IM and 200 Breaststroke specialist. In 2009, Sarah was named "Miss Tennessee", awarded to a student-athlete for success in academics, athletics, and service in the community. Sarah currently serves on the University of Tennessee Lettermen's Board. Sarah has coached for the past 18 summers with GKAISA. She coached at Bearden High School from 2009-2013, and she served as the Outreach Coordinator for Tennessee Aquatics teaching learn-to-swim for children with special needs and serving inner city youth through a partnership with the Emerald Youth Foundation from 2013-2016. This will be Sarah's 13th summer with the Village Green Gators. Sarah currently works as an elementary Speech-Language Pathologist and is employed with Knox County Schools. Sarah is married to former Vol swimmer, Stephen Fortney, and has two little boys, Graham and Hayes. She enjoys running, hanging out with friends and family, and of course dancing! She is looking forward to another fabulous summer! (4/4/23)

Jessie (Stephens) Burkhart Assistant Coach

Jessie is really excited to be spending her ninth summer as a Village Green Gator Coach! Jessie was a GKAISA swimmer growing up, and she always loved being a part of a swim team. Jessie was a high school standout soccer player at Farragut High School where she was named All-State, All-KIL, All-Region, and All-District. Jessie continued her soccer career playing collegiately for Carson Newman University as a defender from 2006-2010. Jessie currently is in her 11th year of teaching first grade and is at Farragut Primary School. Jessie is currently coaching soccer at Hardin Valley. She is really looking forward to a fun and exciting summer here at Village Green!  (4/4/23)

Kamila Nosarzewski Assistant Coach

Kamila Nosarzewski swam 5 years for Village Green while also swimming for Tennessee Aquatics. Kamila was a letterman all four years for Knoxville Catholic Swim Team while also the Team Captain Senior year. Kamila is a graduate from University of Tennessee with a Bachelor of Science in Education. She was the 2017 recipient of the Tom Schumann Scholarship award at the GKAISA City Meet. She competed with both USA swimming and Para-swimming for 5 years. She represented the Southeastern Zone at the Zone Championships in 2016 and 2017. Kamila also competed in the Paralympics World Trials where she represented the USA. Kamila worked alongside Sarah Fortney teaching learn-to-swim for children with special needs serving inner city youth through a partnership with the Emerald Youth Foundation from 2013-2016. She is currently coaching for Tennessee Aquatics as a Pre competitive lead coach. In her free time she likes to workout, cook new meals and hangout outside with friends and family. Kamila has always had VG close to her heart and cannot wait for this summer with the kids!  (4/4/23)

Josh Lucheon Assistant Coach

Coach Josh will be with us at meets and some Fridays this year! This year will be his twelfth year coaching at VG after swimming at Village Green for 2 years. As a swimmer, Josh broke 3 city meet records at VG, was a high school state qualifier at Knoxville Catholic, and a NCAA D3 Honorable Mention All-American at Carnegie Mellon University. He graduated from CMU in 2015 with an undergraduate degree in chemical engineering and works in Oak Ridge. He also is an assistant swim coach with Knoxville Catholic High School. Josh enjoys backstroke, working out, golfing, watching sports, and food. Go Gators Go!  (4/4/23)

Abby Severns Assistant Coach

Abby Severns swam for Village Green for 12 years, and she also swam for Farragut High School. She placed first overall in the 50 freestyle two years in a row, and made it to City Finals every year that she swam. Abby also was a rower for Atomic Rowing in Oak Ridge and was captain of the team her senior year. She is currently a student at the University of Tennessee and enjoys working out, hanging out with friends, and the outdoors. Abby is so excited about coaching for Village Green this fifth summer! Grayson Clower Assistant Coach

Grayson swam twelve seasons as a Village Green Gator and 4 years for Farragut High School; where he was Co-Captain his junior and senior year. Grayson loves everything about summer swimming, but especially the Smoky Mountain Invitational! His senior year, Grayson came in 1st Place in every event he swam! His favorite strokes are freestyle and breaststroke! Grayson’s prior coaching experience includes two years with Village Green and three years as an Assistant Coach for Farragut Middle School.

Grayson just graduated from The University of Tennessee with a BS in Neuroscience, minor in Biology. He plans to spend the rest of 2023 preparing for Physician Assistant School, but is really looking forward to spending the summer on the pool deck with the best team ever! Go Gators Go!!

Emma Grace McCollum Assistant Coach

This will be Emma McCollum’s second year as a coach for Village Green Gators. She swam for the Gators in her childhood and swam for Knoxville Catholic all throughout high school as captain for two of those years. Currently, Emma is a sophomore at Auburn University where she is majoring in marketing. Besides swim as a big part of her life she also loves to travel, snowboard, and play lacrosse in her free time. Village Green has always been a second home to her and she is so excited to coach this year!  (4/4/23)

Ben Kozemko Assistant Coach

Ben swam for VG for 6 years and loved every second of it. During that time he broke 2 City Meet records. He also competed for the Southeastern Zone at the Zone Championships in 2015, where he won 4 events and placed 9th nationally in the 200 IM. Since swimming, he has spent his time around the pool teaching lessons on stroke technique. He is currently a sophomore at Hofstra University and studies Neuroscience on a Pre-Med track. In his free time he enjoys travelling, the outdoors, and spending time with friends and family. He is so excited to coach this year and can’t wait to meet the team!

William Severns Assistant Coach

William Severns swam for Village Green for 13 years. He placed first overall for Freestyle in both Smokey and City meets. William also played baseball at Farragut High school where he was a team captain and won a state championship his senior year. He is currently a Freshman at Auburn University where he is studying business. In his free time, he enjoys being outside, playing sports, working out, and hanging out with his friends. He is super excited to be able to experience Village Green from the coaches perspective this year.

Hannah Reiman Assistant Coach

Hannah Grace Reiman swam for Village Green for 7 years. She holds two Freestyle Relay Records at Smokey. In her years as a swimmer, she had to take a brief break due to injury, but stuck around the pool deck helping where she could because of her love for VGST! Hannah Grace also ran track, cross country, swam, and was a basketball manager for 3 years at Farragut High School. She is currently a freshman at the University of Tennessee - Knoxville where she is studying kinesiology. In her free time she enjoys hiking, swimming, running, and just about any summer activity! Her favorite strokes are freestyle and butterfly. Hannah Grace is very excited and proud to be a part of the team for another wonderful year- this time as a coach! Go Gators!

Julian Nosarzewski Assistant Coach

Julian Nosarzewski will be with us at many meets this year!  This will be Julian’s third year as a coach for Village Green. Julian was a Village Green swimmer for 7 years, during which he won a first place in the 50 Breaststroke and made it to City Meet finals each year he swam. He also swam at Farragut and Knoxville Catholic High Schools, where he was a letterman for two years at both schools. Julian was a swimmer for the Knoxville area swim teams Prime and Tennessee Aquatics, where he went to multiple national swimming events. He swam internationally in Brazil and Poland and is now studying at the University of Tennessee, majoring in Geology and minoring in Portuguese. Other than swimming, Julian is an avid skier and is currently on the sailing team at his university. Julian has a love for Village Green and can’t wait to give back to the team that he loves.
